Saya being good and walking to me. |
Well she isn't close as an velcro dog like, but she stays in the yard really well and does well with her boundaries.
Only times she leaves it is to chase rabbit off the garden, but she returns once the rabbit gets into the high grass she hasn't had luck catching them yet.
My yard has no fences we plan to get chickens eventually and they'll have fence, but that's easier to fence up since it won't be the whole yard..
16acres is too much to fence up and even if we only fence the front and backyard it'd be way too much for us.
Though there is always talk about moving my mom not sure where we do like Madison WI, but that depends on their winters how harsh or hard to drive in it during winter..
She also wants move bit closer to Louisiana in case my brother has kids or whatever, but who knows where.. I hope it's in country and we have a lot of land like we are currently at. I love having this much land so peaceful.
My mom likes it here too, but she is fed up with work and our neighbor is a real jerkface.. He curses at me yells at me and my mom for walking our dogs on the road. I mean we aren't on your yard dumbass we have every right to walk our dogs..
I walk them in the trails, but I like walking along the neighborhood for something different or for a quick walk before we go somewhere.
He has a rat terrier which he allows off leash and gives it 0 exercise and training they just yell at her. Amy!!! I mean all the dog probably think is her owner is barking with her..
She is the rude ill behaved dog while ours are friendly and walks well on leash..
His dogs even charges and snarls at my mom as she rides her bike to ride it along the countryside.. She used to chase cars, but no longer does it my guess she learned lesson and got bumped I dunno.
She has even ran into my yard while Bella was laying in the yard she was paying no attention to anyone just sleeping. >.<
I chased the dog off and yelled at it so far it hasn't come onto my yard again so I hope it learned it's lesson.
I really think there is something wrong with this dog because it been mean and aggressive or reactive either way since they got it as a 8week old puppy.
That doesn't seem right to me. I walked Bella when she was young and about Saya size and the little rat dog ran all away across owners field to get to me. I shielded my Bella of coarse and protected her and kept walking and blocking the dog eventually it stopped.
I don't want to make my blog some rant and negative type of thing, but this neighbor really makes me mad. I just don't get why he has to be so mean and rude.
I confronted him about way he treated me when he cursed at me I was calm friendly didn't have the dogs with me so no issue of him being afraid.. He goes yelling at me and being mean? I mean wtf how can you be that way I was being friendly wasn't loud or irrational with my talk and questions.
Any ways that was the first bad incident with him. He thinks Bella my mom's boxer is a guard dog! A guard dog? She wouldn't hurt a fly oh wait she chases flies.. well she wouldn't hurt a kid. she loves kids.
He also thinks Saya is a wild dog? WTF? Wild? She is far from it she loves people and kids she is bit snarky with strange dogs, but that's thanks to being attacked by two.
Saya does get along with dogs she knows and ones she had slow and good introductions with most owners hate that I want them to play right now! I'm like no can we take a walk together so one your dog isn't so hyper with introduction and two it helps Saya see the dog is friendly and she gets treated while walking with the dog..
Bella loves cats she is friendly with ours |
Saya loves to try and get the kitty to play with her the cat doesn't play much, but he was one who started it by going on his back and pawing at Saya. lol
Anyways I only posted this because before going to Madison WI to get there for shiba picnic we walked the dogs along the neighborhood to get them tired before the 4 hour car ride or bit more not sure..
He yelled at me and my mom to get off his lawn or lane? I don't know it was hard to tell her sounded to mad and I got mad myself. I shouldn't have lost my cool, but we were on the road and we even were on the left of the road so we were not close to his land. He doesn't own the road each neighbor pays their dues for maintenance on the road so we all have right to walk on it.
Of coarse their dog was out there off leash and under no control by them. They continued to yell at Amy and get pissed at us.
Umm I'm not responsible for your dog's behavior sure I'm causing her to react, but that's her owner's fault for not socializing the dog when they got her.
She did her usual crap of barking, snarling, growling and charging at us she hasn't tried to hurt Saya lately, but she used to try to go behind Saya to go in for a bite. It never happened though I used my leg to block her. I didn't kick just used it to block plus she is so afraid of people she ran away from my leg without her being touched by it.
Who knows maybe she has been kicked or hit by her owners? The husband shows a lot of anger issues and is mean as heck. I have no clue why his wife likes him she is so nice and he's a troll. I guess as they say opposite attracts?
Sad thing this really upsetting my mom before she didn't want to move she loves the land 16acres is great! she loves hanging in the yard doing yard work or sitting in a chair reading a book.
So sad one neighbor has to ruin life for everyone. All our five other neighbor's are great their dogs are friendly and behaves and they also don't like the guy either they dread it if he goes to one of the neighbor meetings..
I enjoy allowing my dog's off leash in the yard both behave well in it and don't run off or cause much of an issue.
I never leave them off leash outside without me being around since we have no fence and never know they might do something..
Dogs don't seem to mind going in the house and they always get go back out when I go out too.
They get two or one walks a day and time outside depends on weather of coarse if too hot I don't want to overheat them though there is a lot of shaded are with the trees which the dogs know to go lay in if they get hot. Plus they always have tons of fresh water when outside even if it's just for 15minutes.
Such a mouthy girl
She is mouthy, but she knows to not bite hard she learned as a puppy she can't do that.
We did have a great time in Madison WI as usual and enjoyed the meet up It's just sad we had to leave for the meet up on such bad note. Ah well a happy shiba and boxer is all me and mom needed to get back on positive note. :)
Saya is so goofy!
I did write the event with neighbor and put it in neighbor folder. I figure if I keep note of each one and he gets worse I'll get cops or animal cops involved. I believe leash law applies in my area we are in country kinda, but I believe it applies here..
So I can at least get him on off leash dog off his property.. Need photo proof though that his dogs goes after us.
I do let my dogs off leash, but they're always in my yard and when I walk to the road to walk along neighborhood I have the dogs on leashes so I think I'm within legality on things.. Unless leash law includes dog being off leash in owners yard..

Ah well I'll figure things out as they go.
I can say that you have a gorgeous lawn right there! I like its lush green color. Though I think there are some spots that seem to need attention. Try spiking those certain areas because the soil might be drained badly. This will improve the soil drainage and will help your lawn support the growth of new roots and produce healthy grass. Anyhow, your dog looks adorable! My dog also loves to walk around the boundaries of our lawn. :)
